Something new for all our chalets

With the ever-increasing demand for faster WiFi and in line with our goal to be a truly customer-focussed company, we decided to test out Starlink satellite WiFi from Space X. At the time the landline WiFi service in Hermine was intermittent and only recorded average download speeds up to 6MB. With guests trying to do job interviews over video call, we got to thinking about how to provide a better service.

After a quick and simple installation, we were immediately impressed by the speed. With a maximum download of 212MB/S and an average of over 100MB/S our WiFi service was transformed and we became a bit addictive running speed tests. Starlink is relatively new and wholly dependant on being placed in an uninterrupted northerly direction. You can connect up to 100 devices, which is more than you’ll need when you stay in one of our chalets.

We had the chance to allow our guests to use it too and the feedback was excellent – the difference was recognised and valued. Kids could stream videos with no buffering and the guests could FaceTime family back home.

Since the successful trial, we have begun installing Starlink in all our chalets. We now have full coverage in Caribou, Myrtille, Hermine and Lievre Blanc and our summer guests have loved it.

We will install Starlink in Barthelemy when we re-open for the winter season and we hope our guests love it as much as we do.
